Daily Chronos
About Daily Chronos
A daily history game about deduction, not memorising dates.
Most history quizzes ask a question and check whether you remember the answer. Daily Chronos turns that around. It starts from the answer — one famous event, invention, discovery or person — and gives you 7 hints to work your way towards it. The first hints could fit several moments in history. Each one after that rules some out, until only one is left.
So you don’t need to know obscure facts. The answers are things most people have heard of; the fun is in recognising them early, from the shape of the story rather than its name.
What makes it different
- One puzzle a day, the same for everyone. A game takes a few minutes, and you can compare scores with friends without spoiling the answer.
- Every wrong guess teaches you something. The game tells you if you were very close, named a related event, or were in the right era or category.
- Forgiving answers. Small typos and the other common names for the answer all count, so knowing it is what matters, not its official wording.
- A laboratory with a time portal. The game is played in a pixel-art inventor’s laboratory. Its portal reacts to every guess and opens when you solve the day.
- Fair by design. Answers are checked on our server, never sent to your browser before you finish, so the answer can’t be looked up in the page.
Playing
Daily Chronos is free and runs in any modern web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to install and no account to create, though you can sign in with Google to keep your streak across devices. The how-to-play page has the full rules.
